About Blossom
Meet darling Blossom
Blossom is a truly beautiful pup with a cheeky and cheerful personality to match her cute looks. She has the soft plush coat of a stuffed toy and the roly-poly little body and short fat face of a piglet!
Blossom has been fostered in a home with children over 8 years old and she just loves playing games with them and being smothered in their love.
She still has her sharp puppy teeth and her play involves lots of chewing on toys and sometimes fingers so she would not be suitable for families with very young children.
Blossom has the most adorable characteristic of lifting her upper lip to bare her teeth when she’s excited to see you - it is like her excitement is just boiling over and she’s smiling at you with sheer joy.
If Blossom is in the mood to play and there’s nobody there to provide suitable play equipment and attention, she will happily choose herself a shoe which will provide her with great entertainment - but will also leave you with a shoe with some cute little tooth marks right where you don’t want them. She is a busy pup who needs to be monitored and kept physically and mentally challenged to ensure she does not become destructive. She is very treat-motivated and learns quickly. She has mastered “sit”, “down” and is working on "waiting" before she can eat her dinner. She also still jumps up on people with excitement and her sharp claws can hurt so she does need continued work by her new owner to teach her that standing nicely with all four feet on the ground gets you lots of pats.
Blossom is unsuitable to a home with cats. She is quite obsessed with them and while she has not caused any harm to one, we would prefer to avoid stress and irritation to any cats in the future.
Blossom has been living with three other dogs in her foster home and has developed some lovely doggy manners. She just loves to play robust wrestling matches and tug of war with her foster brother who is not much older than her, but she also knows to leave the older resident cattle dog and Great Dane alone unless they invite her to play. She must go to a home with an older (not senior) friendly desexed male dog who will provide her with steady companionship and continue to teach her appropriate boundaries.
Blossom walks reasonably well on a lead for her age but is easily distracted by other dogs around her. She will benefit greatly with some dedicated lead training in a calm environment. She is not interested in either cars or bikes going past. When walking off lead on the horse trails near her foster home, she trots happily next to you and checks in with you constantly to make sure she isn’t going to be left behind. She does bark at other dogs on the other side of the fence however it’s only a cursory bark before she leaves them alone and runs to catch up with you. She has encountered horses, alpacas, sheep and cows and doesn’t seem particularly fussed by any of them.
Blossom is mostly toilet trained and only has the occasional accident if she’s forgotten about for too long. She sleeps on her own bed in her foster mum’s bedroom and sleeps well all night until the rest of the household wakes up.
Blossom is a fun and active pup who will make a great family pet.
We are unsure of Blossom's breed or how large she will grow.
Even the experienced vets are unsure! They have narrowed it down to possibly a mix of the 3 breeds mentioned above. We are estimating that Blossom will grow into a medium to large girl so please only apply if you are wanting a larger dog.
We are expecting Blossom to be a popular girl and consideration will only be given to the families who cane meet her above mentioned needs.
Currently in care in Wallan, Victoria
Medical notes
Blossom is currently receiving a final treatment for a yeast build up in her ear.
While this is not a serious issue, the vet has recommended regular cleaning to help keep her ears clean and prevent further build ups in the future

If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
