About Luna
Luna is very slow-mo Greyhound. She does zoomies and all the other weird and beautiful things that Greyhounds do, but in slow motion.
Luna is the most adaptable girl. She is a delight both in the home and on her outside adventures. On those adventures, Luna has mastered loose lead walking and has no problem with whomever she meets on her walks, canine or human. She is happy to adjust to how much time you have for your walks, long or short as long as they are regular.
At home in her foster home Luna is a great companion for her foster sister, a young whippet but is OK with her own company too. If the puppy gets too much she is happy to find her own quiet space. At home you can go about your chores without much fuss - sure do the vacuuming around me, just dont expect me to move from the couch.
Luna is a quick learner. Stairs were daunting at first but by day three they were a breeze.
Luna’s foster parents describe her as having a boss look but a heart of gold.
Luna is a treasure.
No cat or quite small dog applications please.
No children under six.
No applications where Luna would be left alone more than four hours unless there is another dog.
We only consider applications who compete our online application.
When this is done we can make contact to discuss adopting a greyhound and potential suitable greys currently in foster care.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
