About Magic
Magnificent Miss Magic! A good-natured kelpie girl with a zest for life and an inquisitive nature!
Magic’s clever mind means she has swiftly learnt to sit for her dinner, attentively waiting until given a release command. Magic is improving at walking and running on lead. She does need reminding when the wonders of the world and passing movement take her attention. A typical young dog, Mags does still drop to the ground and wiggle around when the lead is being clipped on or sometimes when you are trying to give her a pat, however, with patience she settles and with her kelpie smarts she will excel and her confidence will grow with the investment of calm, consistent leadership.
Magic’s cheerful happiness at first seeing you means she is still learning to keep her four paws on the ground! Mags is mastering entering the house politely when invited and will wait in the entrance area until “on your bed” signals she can bound to her mat in the living room, where she settles quietly for the evening. Magic happily sleeps outside on a trampoline in the sunroom overnight, and if allowed to stay inside all night, she curls up on her bed until the morning without making a peep - until the gang stirs and she races to be let out and welcome the new day!!
Magic is fostered on acreage with a house yard, which she settles with a treat or a toy, when left home with her doggie mates. The odd chewing or digging incident reminds you she is still a young dog! When out on the farm during the day accompanying you, she stays around, having a great time exploring and watching the goings on. Although certainly interested in all the amazing sights and smells of the big wide world, with supervision and the odd whistle and call, she locks eyes on her human and runs back from exploring with great exuberance!
Magic adores her kelpie foster siblings. She loves zooming as fast as she can around the paddocks with them, and her commitment to life is no greater than the spectacular form she displays in a ball game. Racing after the ball at top speed and parading around with it when she gets it first, Mags returns to her humans and is getting better at dropping the ball at your feet. Magic loves treats, and the praise of her humans even tops food, so she will learn as much as someone is willing to teach her.
Magic has not spent a lot of time meeting new doggie mates, particularly on lead, and although very friendly she is a little nervous at first, so slow introductions suit her best. Magic is ok around the chooks with supervision, and although interested in watching the cattle and kangaroos she will return when called with a couple of reminders.
Magic would be content as an only dog with her humans by her side or perhaps with an older doggie friend as a mentor. She will need a home that can offer companionship and a commitment to training, to keep her bright mind engaged. A patient manner with clear boundaries will see her reach her full potential. Magic would suit an individual or couple, or a household with calm, confident children.
Magic is a beautifully natured soul. She will do well in a home that has time to spend with her and your commitment will be rewarded with a magic future – alongside the truly magnificent Miss Magic!
