About Stella
Meet Stella, or as she is affectionately known as Hammy (from Over the Hedge), at just 2 years and 4 months old this gorgeous young lady deserves everything that life can offer.
Stella is looking for a special someone(s) who will open their heart to her and continue to teach her what it feels like to be loved and part of a family.
Stella definitely has some special requirements so please read in FULL before applying.
Stella has two speeds and only two speeds – zinging around the place or sleeping
Stella is currently in foster care with some other daschunds and just loves loves loves them.
Stella will need to go to a home where there is another dog (at least one) so that she can play with them and then snuggle with them at sleep time.
Her current foster mum works from home and Stella will be found either zinging around the backyard or on the couch snoozing. Stella has some anxiety so her new home will require some time and patience to gain her trust and allow her to feel safe.
Stella is still putting a bit more weight on and enjoying sampling new food - she very much enjoys her foster mum's home cooking of her dinner (and will happily eat her vegetables)
Stella will be suited to a home where she can be part of a fur pack (not suited to be an only dog), a home that does not have children under the age of 7 (loud noises can give her a fright and send her running), and ideally someone at home through the day.
Stella is fine around cats.
If you are looking for a dog that is going to sit on your lap immediately and give endless cuddles, then Stella is not for you. However, if you are looking for a family member - one that you are willing to continue to work with Stella 's nervousness, show her what affection is and how good it feels to have a pat and cuddle then this beautiful girl could be suited for you.

Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby.
