Sard (the Wonder Dog) hails from Mildura where he was one too many on a property with too many dogs. It would seem that had a happy life where he was secure in his position in the pack (which included 3 rottweilers) but had limited human contact. The separation was traumatic for him, however, he’s adjusting well and responding to kindness with clear boundaries.

This beautiful boy is very athletic and light on his feet. He’s very affectionate, smart, playful, funny, really sweet and bursting with love.

Initially he was very submissive with other dogs but, since his confidence has increased, he has begun barking at and has shown some fear towards unfamiliar dogs; he’s not sure where he stands. He will need careful support when meeting new dogs until he works out his place in his new world. Nonetheless, he has some good doggy friends with whom he plays beautifully and displays excellent manners.

He loves to follow rabbit trails, even when the actual rabbits run right past him; he’s more a herder than a hunter!

Sard is house trained, walks well on a lead and is getting the hang of voice commands. He responds well to praise and treats and is very eager to be a good member of the group.

To fulfil his enormous potential this boy needs clear and consistent boundaries, kindness and companionship. Ideally his forever home will have a lot of wide open space, another dog or dogs and a job for him to take pride in.
