Pixie is fine to live with cats but really wants to be queen of the house – now she has discovered the delights of inside living – so no other dogs please. Pixie enjoys a relaxed life where she can lay in the sun and laze the days away. This quiet girl just wants to be loved, and you will quickly earn her trust with a good scratch. Pixie is quite deaf, and can get startled easily, but she copes very well with the use of her eyes and her talented nose!
Pixie enjoys a short and slow walk each day, or a trip to the park to meet other dogs and people. After a morning of adventures, she is happy to snooze the day away or sit by the window and watch the world go by. While in care, Pixie has quickly learned to use the doggie door, or barks at the door to let her carer knows she needs to go to the toilet. She has had no issues with the resident cat, completely ignoring that he even exists!
Do be aware that Pixie has had mammary tumours removed and these will need to be monitored. As she has spent her life as an outside dog, she is rather arthritic and she may be older than 10, or it may be the tough life she has had.
There is so much to love about Pixie, she is a sweet-natured girl who just wants to be near you. If you want a low maintenance older dog to meander on your walks with and to have company at home, Pixie might be the girl for you.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
