About Kiis
Hi My name is KISS and I am a White Merle Koolie x probably Border Collie
She is not a big girl and current weight is 9 kilos
My hearing and eyesight has been checked and have been given the all clear
Kiis is a ball of energy, she is always on the go, she loves playing with her much bigger foster brother, a Lab who tries to keep up with her, but often fails. Kiis is a loving and super friendly girl, she loves to run around with other dogs at the dog park and size does not deter this girl. She loves to play with her toys and chase anything you throw, ball, stick, toy, we are still working on her return. She loves to cuddle up at night after a long and hard day of playing.
Kiis is super smart and will definitely benefit from puppy school, as we are still working on her manners. She is a jumper and an escape artist and can be a bit mouthy. She loves to dig and has on a few occasions dug holes under the fence and escaped. Her foster home is in a quiet court which has been very helpful as she just comes to the front door and comes back inside. A secure yard is a must, as Kiis is a very determined young puppy on a mission. She is a super quick learner; she is fully toilet trained and sleeps through the night. We have been putting her in the bathroom from 10 and she will sleep through till 6;30/7am with no issues.
Social
Kiis loves other dogs and is super friendly, she has been to parks with other dogs and all she wants to do is run around with them. On her walks she will bark at other dogs but not in an aggressive way, just “I want to play”, she does pull a bit at the start of her walk but settles down after a few minutes. She is also very fascinated by cars at the start of her walk and will try to chase them, a strong hold of her lead is a must till she settles down, we find a harness works best when walking her.
At the moment she is living with 1 dog and 2 cats. She has never tried to hurt the cats but is very curious about them and will watch them and follow them around the house. The cats are not a big fan of Kiis and will often hiss and take a swipe at her to let her know they are not happy. Unless you have a cat that has been around dogs and can tolerate them, a cat free home would be most suited, as she can become a bit obsessive with following them around the house.
Food
Kiis is eating 2 times a day, a mixture of dry and wet food.
She is not food aggressive and shares her food with the dog and even the cats. She loves her treats, boiled chicken and bones and pig ears.
Kiis will often bark if someone is coming near the house, or she hears other dogs, a home with someone home more often than not would be needed. She is great in the car and loves to have a window slightly open to enjoy the fresh air.
When Kiis first arrived at her foster home she was a tail and shadow chaser, this behaviour was seen quite often, having another dog around has really helped to deter this behaviour but we still see it every so often when she is bored.
The home we are looking for should have a secure yard, (this is a must) a family that will walk and exercise Kiis on a daily basis as she is very energetic, older children who don’t mind being jumped on, as she is still jumpy and mouthy. A family that is willing to put in the time and energy in training Kiis as she is a super smart girl and needs lots of stimulation. Before applying, please remember that Kiis breed and age makes for a very energetic puppy that is still learning.
The home she seeks
Kiis likes to dig under the fence and go visit next doors
She will need a home with a dig proof fence, or a family willing to run a hot wire along the fence line to stop this behavior
Kids are fine but must be dog savvy and of age that will correct her jumping on them
If another dog in residence, a male playful dog to be a buddy for her
A large and secure yard
A family willing to take her to obedience school
