About Dusty
Well hello everyone! My names Dusty and I’ve had a very exciting entry into the SPARQ family.
I was found wandering the streets of a west Qld town. The lady that found me thought I was pregnant and called the local animal rescue group.
Luckily for me, a vet nurse was staying with them for a bit from Brisbane and she confirmed I was heavily pregnant and due to give birth between 24-72 hours.
Well, I was scooped up and taken To a lovely home where I received copious amounts of food and love on tap.
I was comfortable during the first 24 hours but chewed my way out of the playpen a few times. Luckily the vet nurse lady was handy with a glue gun and some fly screen 😂
The second day I became uncomfortable and the vet nurse saw I was in labour so I was allowed to roam the house. I had everyone doting on me hand and foot (or paw on paw).
During the third day I was moving a lot cause these little babies were on the move.
When my vet nurse came back from going out to dinner I was pushing out my first baby! Gosh was I happy to see her 💜
For the next 3 hours the lovely vet nurse was my midwife. She helped me push out my 6 little cherubs.
I couldn’t keep up with them coming out so quickly so my midwife cleaned them first and gave them to me to finish.
Boy was I tired.
For the next week or so I was treated like a queen. And my babies had all survived.
You see I was only about 5-6 months old myself. Because I was on the streets I got pregnant early and the rest is history.
My babies are now nearly all adopted and it’s my turn!
I’m a snuggly girl, I love pats and I’m quite vocal. I am looking for a family to keep me safe, I would prefer to be an only cat as I need some peace and quiet after being on the street.
I have gorgeous amber eyes to match my ginger coat and I’m still quite a young girl so I would love a family to love me and allow me to grow up properly.
I love toys, especially ones that make noise. And I love my food.
I’m still quite small because my babies took all my nutrients but I’m time I should fill out a bit more.
Currently I’m holidaying at the cats meow cattery at Samford in Brisbane and I’d like a foster family or a forever family - as nice as this place is, I want a home.
Are you able to give me a home? Please?
Love Dusty ❤️

Welcome to Small Paws Animal Rescue QLD.
We aim to place each of our animals with the best family possible.
Our adoption process may seem a little complex, we ask a lot of questions. But there are reasons for this.
1. Our animals in care are like our children.
2. We want to match the best humans with the animals to ensure you are happy and our animals are happy.
3. We don't want animals to come back to us. We want their family to be forever.
So our adoption process begins with an application being completed.
Once we receive the application we will assess it on face value of the answers you have provided.
Once we can determine if you sound like a good fit, we will call you to chat a bit further.
This is when we will schedule a meet and greet with your potential new family member/s.
We may need you to have more than one meet, especially if you have other pet/s that need to be introduced or children and other human family members.
We will confer with our foster carer, and advise you as soon as possible if you were successful in your meet and greet.
Once we have confirmed your success, we will arrange for the paperwork to be completed including the adoption payment.
We allow our foster carers time to say goodbye to their foster babies, it can be hard for some to give them to their new homes and we recognise all the hard work and dedication they have put in to ensure that your new family member has been safe and is ready to go to their forever home.
We will keep in contact with you for 2 weeks during a "trial" adoption period. There are terms and conditions to be met and we will advise you of these.
Once the trial period has ended we will send you the paperwork for your new family member.
At any time after this - if you need assistance you can always contact us.
