About Lolly
Sheba is a 11 week old pure
Mini American Shepherd (otherwise known as a Mini Aussies Shepherd) "Mini Aussie"
We know Sheba is a striking looking pup and unusual colors however looks, are only a small (read: TINY) part of living with an Mini Aussie. The true beauty of the Aussie shines outward from his or her character. A mini Aussie CAN be a strong guardian of your home and a dog that is not overtly social with people outside of your immediate family...UNLESS you are prepared to work daily very hard during the formative first 12-18mths on the training and socialisation process. This is a herding and guarding working breed of dog like the Kelpie, Belgian Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog and Border Collie is SO if you would not consider owning one of those breeds in a pink fit then you shouldn't consider making an application for Sheba🤪
Is this something you will enjoy and are prepared for the 14+ years of an Sheba's life then we ask you ONLY to consider making an application for Sheba because you have researched the breed's temperament and personality, and think it is something that you could enjoy living with for a long time. Colouring, markings and pretty ‘blue eyes’ should be your last consideration NOT your first!
If after reading the above information you think you have the committment dedication and time to ensure that Sheba continues to develop into a good canine on citizen please read on☺
Being a small herding dog Sheba is highly intelligent and these type of dogs are joften trained for dog sports such as herding, agility, obedience, canine freestyle, flyball, and others.
Sheba specifically comes from performance dog lines so would be ideally suited to someone looking to do some sort of dog sport/obedience with her, alternatively her new owner/s must have a plan for both daily physical and mental stimulation so that Sheba has a fulfilled life and does not become bored and destructive. No "job" means Sheba can easily become bored. This means, daily exercise, puzzle feeders, noseworks play dates, adventures with her new family, socialisation, seeing and experiencing new things for example.
Sheba's owners will need to set her up to succeed with lots of force free training and careful socialising with other dogs, people, trips in the car and different environments so that she continues to grow up to be a confident adult dog and must also have the time to commit to one on one time training with Sheba. Preference will be given to owners that are prepared to work with a force free trainer if needed.
Preference will also be given to homes with another dog who is well behaved, friendly calm,
and between the age of 1 and 5 approximately and to homes with experience with working breeds from a young age.
a secure yard and access inside the home at all times and snuggles on the couch also need to be in her future
Dog parks are no place for a young puppy like Sheba for a number of reasons, so supervised play dates with calm friendly dogs are best for Sheba at this stage of her life.
A home where Sheba's new owners are not away for long periods of a time ideally no more than 2-3 hours at most at the moment. Sheba is still a puppy, and and means she is not ok to be left for long periods of time. Sheba needs to be left for shorter amounts of time, and this can be gradually increased in small increments. That way she will learn to cope with being left.
Sheba has a high maintenance coat that will require daily brushing so her new owners will have to set aside time each day to brush and groom Sheba so that she gets used to grooming as this will be ongoing. Sheba will also need regular bathing
