About Bronson ~ Kelpie X(on trial 3/6/21)
Bronson is a 2 ½ year old Kelpie X. His favorite pastime is cuddling up to his human on the lounge or sitting loyally under the work-desk. He has a need for constant companionship, and may share himself with a second human depending on his mood. Bronson will be your shadow around the house, and because he has such a desire to please he walks pretty well on-lead when taken out, not pulling or showing any aggression to other dogs. He still needs to learn about playing with toys and chasing a ball, as this would help to tire him out.
Bronson would not suit a home with full time workers. He needs stay at home or work from home people in his life. Over time, his ability to be left on his own could be managed with some training but for now, he really does want a human nearby. He has recently shown signs of separation anxiety by chewing non-food items and barking when left alone for too long. This could be fixed with more training and regular daily exercise.
He has not been tested with cats or other animals. He currently lives with 2 other dogs, is a bestie with one but is starting to show dominance to the other. For this reason, it would be ideal for him to be an only dog, but experienced dog owners may be suitable if a meet and greet with their dog goes well. He would be okay with children over 7.
Bronson sleeps inside and is almost house trained, though still has the odd accident. He has proven to be exceptionally smart with learning basic commands like will sit and stay. But he does need more time put into his training. Amazingly for a kelpie cross, he has shown no inclination to climb gates or fences, and is very content staying in his own yard.
Unfortunately, he does have the odd epileptic fit, but this is now being managed with medication. He may grown out of it, only time will tell. Other than that, he is in excellent health and will offer the right family amazing loyalty and love.
Bronson is located in Corlette, an hour north of Newcastle. More information can be obtained by email at johnotbird48@gmail.com
His adoption fee is $500, which includes all up to date vet work (desexing, vaccinations and microchipping) You can fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com.drnadopt
