About Oppi
A message from Opal
“ Diamonds are a girls best friend? You haven’t met this gem yet....
My name is Opal but my friends call me Oppi. It’s pronounced “Opee” but there’s no pun intended, I might be 12 but I’m fully house trained and love being inside with the hoomans.
Just like a fine wine, I keep getting better with age. I’m spritely and nimble, I love to play with other submissive dogs but I love taking nana naps too. My toys go with me where ever I go, even on those sweet car rides I adore.
I would love to be part of a family to live out my golden years, children and older people make me really happy. But I’m a very special gem and I prefer not to have the company of those fluffy meows or those feathery cluckers.
If you think you have room in your heart and your lap for me, I promise I’ll give lots of kisses and be your best friend.
Love Oppi 🐾 “

I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a tough year.
For beautiful senior girl Opal, it has been particularly hard.
Sadly Opals owner passed away after them being together for 11 years.
Opal is a sweet girl, a homebody , a couch snuggled and a friendly face. She sleeps inside and is housetrained
While Opal likes and gets on well with other dogs, she does prefer to be the only pet, she’s not big on socialising with other dogs and happy for short walks and relaxing at home. She does not like cats and won’t tolerate even a cat visitor .
If you think you can provide her with a safe and loving home, let her sleep inside and be the happy ever after she deserves . Then apply to adopt Oppi and give her the retirement she deserves (without cats, chickens or other small animals) please contact us…

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
