About Lizzy
THE STAFFY WHO NEVER STOPS SMILING
Lizzy is now looking for her forever home!
Lizzy is a little English Staffy weighing 16 kilos
Miss Lizzy is an absolute firecracker who brings a smile to everyone’s face who meets her.
She is a very high energy girl and will need lots of exercise and stimulation.
READ HER PROFILE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU APPLY
PERSONALITY
Lizzy is 10 months old and full of puppy energy. She just loves attention from both humans and other dogs and is just the friendliest little lady you’ll ever meet. She is brave and shows an interest in everything you do. Often following you around as you hang out the washing and clean the yard.
This girl is always on the go and will need a firm home to understand and love her for her puppy and excitable personality
FEEDING
She can be a little picky sifting through the dry food to get her roll of meat but will go back later on to finish the job.
She much prefers wet food than dry and we have been slowly getting her to eat both to ensure her teeth and kept in ship shape
TEMPERAMENT
Although Lizzy is small she is very excitable and will zoom over to you and jump on your lap from a distance. Although she does not hurt this could pose an issue with young children so we are seeking a home without small kids as although a small girl will probably knock them over when she is exited
Lizzy just loves to play with both humans and dogs that she is introduced to correctly
We have found that Lizzy can show some lead aggression but when off lead is a very friendly girl
When meeting another dog if they show any signs of aggression at all Lizzy will never be their friend!!!
We have had her playing with numerous dogs but the introduction has been done by us and we are very experienced in this area have used very submissive dogs
Based on what we have now observed in her we feel that Lizzy should be an only dog and further training given with socialization to teach her not to be so dominant in play and to greet other dogs without wanting to be bossy pants is the best thing for her at this pint in her life and development.
Lizzy loves toys! Although is just as happy with a used water bottle and if she has a doggy friend with her she will play and wrestle for hours. Her favourite game is tug of war.
Toileting
Ok so here is where it gets interesting with Lizzy
So we feel that Lizzy was probably kept previously in a garage or some sort of outdoor area with carpet as she seems to think that carpet is her toilet area ........ As soon as you let her in she wants to use the indoor carpet as the toilet so this can make her house training very challenging. At this point we recommend Lizy is an outdoor dog and that her inside experience needs to be done slowly and with absolute commitment to trying to break this habit..
Lizzy is currently residing with another dog in her foster home but he is very submissive and that's how she likes it
Again we emphasize that Lizzy can show lead aggression with others and this will need to be managed with experienced handlers
Cats
Lizzy is interested in cats but has shown no aggression towards the resident cat she was homed with.
Training
Lizzy will sit on command. This includes when she is on a walk and comes to a road to cross. Lizzy loves her walks, she is still learning not to pull so much but other than this walking her is a dream.
She will still need some further training on lead not to pull butr at only 16 kilos for the average person this is not an issue
Lizzy thrives on walks so will need a family that are prepared to walk her daily
ENRICHMENT
As mentioned earlier, Lizzy has quite a lot of energy and needs to be kept busy.
Enriching and interesting toys are a must. Although best suited to an outdoor environment Lizzy definitely nee
