About Jo
Jo is so curious and joyous. Just a bundle of love and laughs.
She loves kisses and climbing into your lap for more love. Jo happily slinks her way over from her bed when she needs a good scratch, sometimes she even paws you for more ! She does prefer being next to you most of the time, almost like a shadow.
Jo will be most at home with other dogs or a family, as long as there's lots of pats.
She is very polite, and knows to be gentle with food, but can be too bouncy with small children and may knock them over when she jumps or gets excited for walks.
Jo loves her exercise but when she is finally puffed her long tongue will escape and flap about.
Beautiful with gorgeous brown eyes and a sleek back coat, Jo is a bit of a supermodel on her walks, often stopping on the runway to schmooze with new admirers.
This supermodel isn’t always graceful. The goofball comes out at the start of a zoomie looking more like a baby giraffe learning to run.
Glamorous, funny, loving, cheeky and curious, Jo will always make your day.
No cat or small dog applications please.
No children under six.
No full time workers unless working from home or there is another dog for company
We only consider applications who compete our online application.
When this is done we can make contact to discuss adopting a greyhound and potential suitable greys currently in foster care.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
