About Pietro and Wanda
Pietro and Wanda were found between a house and a fence starving to death. When the Adelaide Animal Emergency & Referral Centre messaged us about them we took them in straight away! They were 8 weeks old at the time and much smaller than other kittens their age. They still are! Wanda and Pietro are now 14 weeks old and are thriving. They're still smaller than other kittens their age but you wouldn't be able to tell! They're playful, cheeky and little purr balls.
That's not the end of their story though, on the 26th of March, their foster carers saw that Pietro was shaking when they picked him up. When taken to the vet, Pietro was diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia - a condition caused by the cerebellum not developing properly in the womb. While Pietro's 'speed wobbles' have gotten a lot better as he's grown, he will still wobble when stressed or when he is concentrating hard on something. Pietro also needs a high sided litter tray and needs his ultra-sharp claws to balance. He also needs to be strictly indoors as he doesn't have the same defences as other cats.
These two siblings are very bonded and do everything together. Therefore, they're only available as a double adoption.
Pietro and Wanda are:
- Good with other cats
- Untried with kids
- Untried with dogs
While they have been untried with children and dogs, we believe that given patience and the right slow introductions, they'll adapt well.
Pietro and Wanda's adoption fee of $380 includes:
- Desexing
- Vaccination
- Microchip
- Flea and Worming treatment up to date of adoption
- Socialisation
- Litter training
- An adoption pack with some of their current food, some toys, carrier blankets and other goodies
Pietro and Wanda are to be kept strictly indoors or with access to a secure cat enclosure/run
Pietro and Wanda are located in Morphett Vale
Medical notes
Pietro has Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This is a non-progressive condition where the Cerrebellum did not develop properly. Pietro requires no medications but does have special needs
Adoption details
Kittens and cats are adopted through their foster homes. Potential adopters are encouraged to contact Hisses to Purrs by phone, email or Facebook to arrange a meet and greet with the kitten they are interested in.
All kittens and cats are microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and parasite treated prior to adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Pre-adoptions are available for adopters who wish to adopt a specific kitten or cat who has not reached weight for desexing, or who are awaiting their vet appointment. Kittens and cats remain in the care of Hisses to Purrs until desexing has occurred and in the case of female kittens and cats, until 5 days after desexing to give them time to heal.
All kittens and cats adopted through us must be kept indoors or have access to a secure cat enclosure. This is non-negotiable for the safety and health of our kittens and cats.
