About Daisy ~ 1yr Old Bull Arab X(on trial 9/9/21)
Hi I'm Daisy! I'm a gorgeous 1yr old Bull Arab X. I am pretty as a flower. But I don’t stand still, being pretty. I have a lot of living to catch up on, and I am giving it my best shot!
You see, when I was little, my human dumped me and never came looking for me. Then my leg got broken (the how and why are unclear) and I had to have an operation to fix it. So I ended up in a cage for a very long time, waiting for my leg to get better. I missed out on puppy play and I certainly missed out on learning how to dog. Now I love to zoom around and I do get a bit silly. I am told I am a puppy in a big girl coat. Now if I was a small fluffy type, everyone would say I was cute and funny and no-one would ever get upset with me. But I am supposedly a Bull Arab X and apparently that means I am expected to behave like an adult.
I am very petite, standing less than 70cm tall. I am slim (under 20kg) and likely to stay that way. I watch my figure and don’t get too excited about food. My problems with my leg do no stop me from running around, but it does get sore sometimes, usually after a day of exploring. I still act like a puppy, and I am driven by my nose, which can lead me into trouble. I find it hard to walk in a straight line, because sniffing everything is my greatest enjoyment right now. Obviously I will never be a runner’s best friend, but I love my walks with patient humans who understand that I need to stop and sniff…a lot. Sometimes I get a bit reactive to other dogs, sometimes I don’t – it’s just excitement. I am not a mean girl ever!
I find things to keep me busy. I will sniff out bugs and mice and frogs. I will make a game out of almost anything, and that occasionally includes shoes, tools, and toys. I like to chase balls. I enjoy dog park visits. I adore car rides. I love belly rubs. I enjoy training exercises, but I am not totally treat obsessed, so I can lose interest after a while. But if you want to do something, I will be there with you to keep you company. I am not an escape artist, but I do enjoy a bit of gardening (digging). I love it if you are digging in the garden with me.
I need a new human to love me. They need to be kind and gentle and not expect too much of me while I grow up later than most other dogs. I am good with other dogs (except black Labradors for some unknown reason). I am not happy with cats – they are scary things. I need to be allowed to sleep inside and be an active member of your family. I would probably be best as a single dog, but I may be happy with a doggy sibling as long as they are patient and not too old and cranky. One problem though is that I don’t like to scoff my food. I like to eat over several sittings. That may cause problems with other fur-babies.
I am happy to hang out with my special human. In fact, I get a bit scared when they leave me home alone, so my special human would ideally be home more often than not. I can be left for short periods as long as I have some toys and chewy yums (kongs, bones etc) to keep me entertained. I love children too, but I get a bit excited and bouncy and I can’t help it when they get nervous around me. Maybe teenagers and older would be best for me.
Do you have time to spare and love to give? Are you looking for a cuddle bunny who loves your company? Do you have lots of patience for me while I grow up/catch up? Are you my special someone?
