Meet Nelson! 'The Dog Formerly Known as Prince'
Nelson has spent some time with us at SCAR as when he came in he was a little bit scared of the world.
Nelson has built up so much confidence in the time that he has spent with us, however he is looking for a home where someone can continue to gently build a relationship with him and provide him the security and safety he needs to Nelson will need flourish.
Nelson is suitable to live in an adults only home without other dogs.
Nelson's favourite thing to do is go for quiet walks where he can sniff all the smells. He was pretty afraid of having things go over his head (like a collar or harness) but he has gotten much better now!
Although he is an older guy, you wouldn't be able to tell! He has lots of energy to keep up with you. He also would love to learn new skills, he's got the intelligence of his breed.
Nelson would be best suited to a home where it's calm and predictable, someone who can focus on rewarding calm behaviour, as well as having indoor and outdoor access.
Ideally Nelson's new family will take pats slow, and reward him for being the brave boy we know he is.
