About Bonnie
Hi my name is Bonnie! I'm 7 years old, and I looking for a special family to live out my golden years with.
My foster mum says I'm an absolute sweetheart! I love absolutely all humans, kids are my favourite and she says I'm incredibly patient with kids. I grew up with young kids including one with ADHD, I am so placid they can do whatever they like with me and I will just lap up the attention. I love all adults too however sometimes I don't really understand personal space and I want to be as close as you as possible every chance I can get (Literally - sitting ON you, or hovering inches from your face... staring intently).
I have a bit of a hyperactive disorder and anxiety, and need a family that will be home most the time (preferably retired like myself) have me inside, on the couch and sleeping in the bedroom with you as that's my favourite place to be, right next to you. I'm a little high strung and sometimes struggle to relax, admittedly I stress when I'm not with you and sometimes bark/whinge when you go out. I get along well with all other dogs that I have met - big and small and enjoying playing with them at the park. I'm great off leash and pull a little on leash but it can be managed. Although I do love other dogs, I'd definitely prefer a home as an only dog, as I am quite needy and don't like sharing attention.
I have previously been a breeder, and had 4 litters - thankfully my baby years are behind me but being an older lady with so many kids I sometimes have accidents when I get excited. These are out of my control so my new human needs to be okay with small wee accidents in the house from time to time. I'm generally toilet trained though and have just started taking medication for this which will mean one tablet a week for the rest of my life (but hopefully control those awkward moments). I'm still learning basic commands to not jump up on people, but I have good recall, and love chasing the ball outside. I am actually full ball-OBSESSED to the point that play time needs to be had in quite a structured manner or I will spend an hour looking for where you've hidden my ball.
I have a thick long wool-like coat that doesn't shed much hair, but will need a trim at the groomers to keep me looking my best.
I really just want my own forever humans. I promise to love you endlessly and unconditionally if you can promise the same in return.
My rescue says I have been checked out by a vet and come desexed (yay, no more litters!) vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm tested and wormed. To adopt me my rescue are taking applications in order to find the most suitable home. They require a phone interview and yard check. Please give Gladstone PAWS a call on 0429 127 950.-
