Brucey Boy ~ 2yr Old Kelpie X (On hold 6/5/21)

This little guy is an absolute snuggle bug. He loves spending time with his humans and just wants to be near you when you are at home. Brucey Boy is a 2yr Old Kelpie X Staffy and absolutely loves people.

When you head out for the day he is quite happy to chill quietly in the backyard, but be prepared for lots of cuddles when you get home! He is still learning his manners, so will jump up to make sure he gets the attention he deserves, but is fast learning that it’s not nice to jump.

Brucey has previously lived with a lot of other dogs so is presumably dog friendly. But because he had only ever mixed with the same dogs in his home, how he will interact with others is unknown. Introductions with any new playmates would need to be slow as he is still not too sure about how the world works outside of home.

Brucey loves kids and happily follows them around wherever they go. He takes treats gently from them and will sit and wait for them to throw a ball or toy. He can get a little excited and jumpy, so would be better suited to dog savvy kids willing to help with his training.

Brucey responds well to treats and is very clever. He can sit and lie down, he waits to be fed and walks well with a harness if it is quiet. He does get very nervous and reactive when on a lead if there are other dogs or loud noises around, so will need a lot of help with training in this area. With only one training session, he has shown that he can learn quickly, so we’re confident lead reactivity could be very easily overcome.

When not out adventuring Brucey would love to be snuggled up with you on the lounge or helping you out around the house. If you work from home, he will lie at your feet all day, with a break for a game of tug every so often.

Brucey will need some more time spent on his toilet training. He sleeps inside and can hold on overnight, but needs reminders during the day if he is inside for long periods of time.
