Bella ~ 1yr Old Lab X Mastiff(On Trial 8/5/21)

This little (medium) black beauty is a cheeky bundle of energy who is ready to plant her feet firmly in her forever home. Bella is a 1yr old Labrador x Mastiff mix breed. Even with the breed mix, Bella is on the small side of a Labrador, currently around 20-25kg. She won’t get any taller, but she might fill out a bit more.

Bella enjoys walks, playing fetch and most importantly feeling the love from her people
with lots of pats and cuddles. She is good with children but, given that she is still a bundle of goofy puppiness who tends to jump up on people, older kids in the family would be preferable. Having said that however, regardless of kids or no kids in Bella’s forever home, her new people NEED to be committed to training her so that she develops beautiful manners. Her breed mix can lend itself to keeping her a cheeky, puppy for longer than others and sometimes this can be undesirable, especially if training isn’t given and she doesn’t have a leading person.

Bella is a friendly dog, not only with people but other dogs as well. She is also respectful of cats. Having another older, playful but calmer dog could be of benefit to Bella to keep her entertained and in check. Bella likes to run, so a big yard would suit, as would someone who will take her for regular walks to burn some of her energy. She does enjoy a walk and loves to sniff but is quite strong which means she prefers to take you where her nose leads her. Teaching Bella how to walk nicely on lead is important. She is quite strong in a harness, but does respond to having a shorter lead, where she isn’t controlling the walk. Being a Labrador breed, Bella is food driven, so training her with treats would be a good starting point to pull her nose off the ground and bring her focus to the leading hand. It won’t take long to train
Bella, just consistent effort.

Bella is an inside/outside dog and loves cuddling up on the lounge with you. She is also house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside for her business.
Despite her puppiness, Bella is truly her names meaning – Beautiful and with some extra guidance and love, she will continue to blossom.

Bella is located in the Hunter Valley, NSW and any potential adoptee/family is required to meet Bella beforehand. If there is already a family dog, they too will need to meet Bella before approval is given.
