About Blondie
There's nothing not to love about 4 year-old BLONDIE, a gentle, pure-bred, female Mini Dachshund with a very sweet and placid temperament and an unusual sable coat.
Reluctantly surrendered by her owner because the other resident house dog was picking on her, Blondie doesn't have a mean bone in her body and loves everyone, especially children. She grew up in the country and has been successfully exposed to horses, guinea fowl, sheep and a cat.
Blondie has had several litters of pups, but her mothering days are now at an end and she is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Very well trained by her previous owner, Blondie can walk to heel, whether on a lead or without. She just loves to pitter-patter alongside her favourite human. She is house-trained and crate-trained. Once bonded, she has excellent recall and, true to her breed, is a highly affectionate and placid little dog.
Playful and lively with the most soulful eyes and a heart of gold, Blondie would make a delightful addition to any home. She is accustomed to having ready access to the inside of the home and is used to sleeping in her favourite human's bed at night.
Blondie has had a complete DNA-based genetic profile done and has been cleared of breed-specific diseases. At 6 kgs, she is a little on the thin side at present, but is in very good health. Her teeth are excellent, courtesy of having access to lots of raw bones and good, fresh food all her life.
What sort of home would suit Blondie best?
1. As she's inclined to be submissive around other dogs, we are looking for a home where she is the only dog in residence.
2. She is used to having someone around most of the time, so is not suited to full-time workers.
3. She is reserved until she gets to know you, so will need extra time, love and patience while she settles into her new home.
4. She is used to sleeping with her human at night, so a willingness to continue this arrangement is essential.
5. To be happy and healthy, Blondie needs daily exercise and mental stimulation. She loves to go for a walk every day and enjoys playtime, whenever the opportunity may arise.
Her adoption fee is $1200 and she is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
