About Rebel
Rebel
Hi Humans, my name is Rebel or as my foster mum calls me Rebby. I’m not really a rebel !! just a cool kid looking for a new home. My foster mum thinks I’m extremely handsome and good looking with a great personality so she has offered to write my profile so I can find the best forever home so please take your time to read about me ‘Rebel’
Here goes:-
Rebel/ Rebby is a strapping young 10 month 27kg old Bull Arab currently around the size of a lab. He is most probably not going to grow too much bigger so considered to be medium to large. As you can see he is a handsome fellow with big heart and big brown puppy dog eyes, which make your heart melt.
Rebel is inquisitive, even tempered, energetic and loves to play as all pups do. He’s a super sweet boy full of love, energy, eager to please making him a loyal loving companion
Rebel enjoys being stimulated, keeping active playing and wrestling with his resident fur pal. His breed is an active breed with lots of energy to burn so an outdoors family who can take him on daily walks is a must
Rebel, initially being an outside dog has quickly learnt that being an inside dog is much more fun. It’s warm, cosy comfortable and sometimes you can find treats when you least expect it. Inside for Rebel was unknown, a real novelty at first with lots of jumping and craziness. He is now understanding inside manners, quickly learning his boundaries, now mastered sit for pats, food and lead time. In the short time he has been in foster care he has been noted to be quick learner.
Exercise and walks
Rebel will sit to have his harness put on. He is great on the lead for a young pup, learning to walk on the left and next to his human. He doesn’t pull on the lead unless he sees another dog or smells something worth sniffing. When he does pull he can be strong on the lead, but quickly learning the word leave so now predominantly happy to walk on with a bit of encouragement. This boys is coming along in leaps and bounds therefore his forever family need to make the most of this with continued training. He is an excellent walking or running buddy. His recall off lead is not great but I’m sure with time and persistence he will learn
Socialisation
He is very dog social, loves having a good run around with both males and females. Being a pup means he doesn’t realise his size so can be boisterous and nippy when playing but in no way aggressive. His favourite thing is a good game of chase, and boy he’s quick !!!! this must be his greyhound genes coming out
Food.
Food, food did someone say food!!!! Rebel loves dinner time. Rebel is being fed twice a day both dry and wet food. He has learnt to sit prior to being fed but not quite up to waiting before eating. Favourite treats such as cow hooves, carrots, bones or chews, has not displayed any food aggression
Play/ stimulation
Rebel is playful and can be quite jumpy and excited so would only suit a family with older children/ teenagers. Rebel is learning toys are fun, often goes to his toy box to get every single toy out, just like your typical toddler. He doesn’t like squeaky toys as finds them a bit scary so will shy away. Rebel will need to be provided with lots of stimulating toys to keep his mind active and prevent him from getting up to mischief
Sleep
Rebel is happy to sleep inside or outside. Initially he can howl or bark but soon settles then being quiet for the night. He is currently sleeping inside using his doggy door as needed. He won’t say no if you want a snuggle in bed but beware he will sleep right next to you giving you little room to move 😆 During the day he likes to snooze on his doggy bed outside and has been quite settled while his foster mum is at work.
