About 💐Poppy💐
We are so, so happy that Poppy is finally ready to find her very own forever home!
Poppy came into care in November with several other kitten farm survivors, completely shutdown emotionally and in poor health. What we didn’t know at the time was that Poppy was also pregnant.
Poppy was a fiercely protective mum to her 5 babies and did an amazing job of raising them. For the last few weeks and for the first time ever, Poppy has been able to focus on herself, without having to worry about her safety, her babies or what could be coming next. All that lies ahead for Pop now is a life of love, comfort and security.
Pop will need a quiet space to call her own while she acclimatises to her new surroundings. She will benefit greatly from having someone come in and sit and talk to her while in her quiet space and she will reward them by smooching their hand and playing with toys. Given some time, Poppy’s sweet personality will shine through she will reward your patience with so much love! We believe Poppy to be around 2-3 years old and we have a feeling that since she missed out on enjoying her kittenhood, she’s decided to have a ‘do over’, which is just so lovely to see!
Poppy will require regular brushing to keep her coat shiny and healthy. She will also require daily cleaning of her eyes.
Poppy would be best suited to a mature home with possibly one proven cat friendly cat for companionship.
Poppy is now taking expressions of interest from mature homes in Melbourne and surrounds. She can be a little standoffish with new cats, but once she knows they’re friendly, she’s fine. Pop would also be happy as an only cat.
Poppy is in care in Ferntree Gully.
