About Jack
Hello soon-to-be-not-so-strange, strangers!
I’m Jack and I’m 3 and ½ years into this wild world and boy am I making the most of it! I’m a little boisterous, excitable, and not quite coordinated at times, but I can also be a little unsure and anxious in new situations or with new dogpals!
About me, well I’m pretty house trained, pretty mellow when it comes time for my humans to spent the day at work, spending quality me time napping on the couch or sniffing the outside world scents! If they’re out most of the day, I definitely prefer a dogfriend to keep me company!
I’m a big horse-like child, who
enjoys my fluffy toys, a bit of ball collecting, trying to carry my humans on my back and sweeping them off their feet, going on a morning and evening waltz around the block! I’m cuddly and curious and clumsy.. and hopefully my future humans are keen to help me get a bit more confident and chill. I’ve got a big appetite for just about anything, but I truly love a bone.. hint hint.
If you’re looking for a boy who will zoom around you with love and excitement and joy, look no further.
Oh! Also, I’m not so cat friendly, and I might be a bit uncoordinated for small children!
Enquire within, future friends!
Summary:
- WFH or part time – someone home more often than not and or another (easy going) dog of medium to large size
- No children under 10
- Not cat friendly and has not been tested with small dogs.
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
Click 'Enquire about this pet' to contact us or email us at adoptions@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. We'll send you an EOI form, this must be returned before proceeding.
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
