About Bea
Of all the cute kitties I’ve fostered she’s the one who has stolen my heart. Bea was a terribly shy girl when she came to me and it’s taken quite some time to restore her faith in people but it’s been worth every minute. We’ve gone from sneaking out from under my couch and eating at night when I went to bed (for weeks on end) to now lying next to me on the couch and asking for a tummy rub.
She still doesn’t like strangers coming into my place and will hide; especially if someone knocks loudly at my door, but she’s made incredible progress.
She likes to talk to you periodically throughout the day and enjoys playing with you - she's especially fond of any toy that is dangled from a rod. Mostly though she’s fond of sitting on her perch on the cat tree at the window and watching bird tv in between naps. When I’m at my computer she makes sure she comes by for a ‘drive-by pat’ and the occasional headbutt. If I lie down on the couch she usually curls up next to me for extended tummy pats - bit of a favorite for her. She's very affectionate when she bonds with you.
She would love to find someone who has a lot of stability in their life and understands that it might take some time before she feels secure again but you’ll be rewarded with lots of love. I've had foster kittens while I've had her and while eventually she has gotten along with them it takes time for her to come around to accepting them. I wouldn't put her with an older cat who was there first.
She is absolutely an indoor cat and would be terrified if she was outside so please keep that in mind.
PLEASE NOTE: Bea is VERY SLOW to trust but once she does she's very loving. She's not going to be snuggling up to you in a hurry, it could take a long time for her to feel safe. She needs someone with a lot of patience who is a dedicated cat lover, someone who lives alone and has a very stable and quiet life. This really is one very loving little girl who deserves a special home.
