Hi there, I'm Gordon, but you might also know me as Gordy, Gramps or Grandpa Gordy!
At 8 years old, some might say I've reached 'golden oldie' status, but I say age is just a number - I've got plenty of playtime left in me! I'm a big favourite here at Greysland with my happy affectionate ways and I'm certainly not shy about nuzzling up to you for some love and attention. I also have a keen eye for interior design - no matter how well you make my bed, you can be sure I'm going to rearrange it just how I like it!
I arrived at Greyhound Rescue not in the best shape, with some nasty teeth making eating a bit tricky. The dogtors have sorted it all out now thankfully, so now I get to focus on eating well and filling out - lucky me!
Being the friendly confident fellow I am, I get along well with other dogs, although I need some practice so I don't come on too strong with the smaller kind. I enjoy a good adventure and here at Greysland I've even been learning things like stairs - so I just know I'll fit right into your life and you'll wonder how you ever lived without me!
If you think you'd be interested in meeting me, fill out an application form and the volunteers at Greyhound Rescue will get on the case. Our matchmakers go to greyt lengths to match each hound with the right family to make sure everyone's happy, and you'll become part of a wonderful rescue community with lots of support along the way. Get in touch to find out more!
All of Greyhound Rescue's adoption and foster placements are on a case-by-case basis. We go to great lengths to match each dog with their new family to make sure that both dog and family are happy. We offer post-adoption support to our rescue community so that each adoptive family and hound are cared for.
The first step is to complete the application form on our website. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Greyhound Rescue's adoption fee is $420. All our hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and heartworm tested and treated. The adoption fee also includes our New Adopter Kit - collar, leash, muzzle and loads of other goodies to help you get your new hound settled into the family.
