Hello everyone, it’s me, Tammy! I know so many followed my story, donated towards my vet care and fell in love with me when I became a KPR kid a couple of weeks ago. When my owners took me to the vet, I was in very bad shape. Sadly, my owners did not seek medical care for me until it was nearly too late. My eye was swollen and bulging out of my head and I needed immediate help. There were only 2 options, surgery or euthanasia. My eye was about to rupture, and I would have died a slow, painful death. The vets gave my owners another option, surrender me so that they could see if they could find a rescue group to take me on. That way, I could get my surgery and the chance of a new furrever family. Fortunately, the vets reached out to KPR and they didn’t hesitate to agree to fund my surgery and give me a second chance at life. I was rushed into the operating surgery, not a moment too soon. When the nurses began to prepare me for surgery, pus began pouring from behind my eye, a shocking sign of just how close to death I had been. Fortunately, my operation went well, and I was able to leave hospital the next morning and head to KPR. Of course, everyone at KPR fell head over heels in love with me, including my new vet. They loved that I was so friendly and loving and social. It broke their hearts to think that, just a day before, I could have lost my life. Last Friday, I had my second surgery. I was desexed and had my dental done. Fortunately, the vet was able to save all of my teeth and now I have a gorgeous set of pearly whites and much nicer breath! Now, I know that you all think that I am super gorgeous and would love to share your home with me, but I do have a list of what would make my perfect home. Most importantly, I would love my new pawrents to have lots of time to spend with me. I am the sort of girl who is really looking to be someone’s furbaby, not their dog. Although I weigh almost 10kg (I like my food, don’t judge me) I am very much a lapdog and if there is a lap, I expect to be on it. My new mum or dad will also need eyes in the back of their head. If I think that someone is about to sit and create an available lap, I will jump onto the chair in anticipation. I enjoy going for a walk or a drive in the car, basically I love going wherever my pawrents are going and doing whatever they are doing. I also require use of a bed. A queen or king size is preferred so that my humans can share my bed with me. I am told that I snore (really loudly) but I’m sure that isn’t true. Ladies don’t snore, do they? I am fine with other dogs, but I do not need a doggie sibling, I prefer human company to canine. I am the sort of girl who loves affection. I am super cuddly and friendly and will make an absolutely wonderful companion. Losing an eye hasn’t made any difference to my life and at 8 years old, I have many years of love to give. If you think that you can offer me what I need, please go to the KPR website www.karmasplacerescue.org.au and fill in the online adoption enquiry form. I am located in Kingaroy QLD and I am excited to meet my new family. Love Tammy xx
