About Bear DL2648
Bear is ready to find his perfect match! Be sure to read his profile thoroughly before submitting your application, as we are looking for the home that will best suit his needs.
Bear is a spunky little guy who is always so excited to meet people. He acts tough and barks when someone comes to the door, but he will soon smother any stranger that comes into the house with love. He may even wee a bit in his excitement... but what is a little wee between friends?
Bear wants to be as close as possible and will jump up and paw the air for you to hold him. He will accept as many pats and tummy rubs as you can give. He can become a bit anxious and barky if alone outside or in another room, as he prefers to be close by.
He is an indoor dog, but is still working on his toilet training. This is getting better every day, with constant positive reinforcement that outside is the place to go! He is still a puppy and wants to please, and is ready and willing to be trained with some food as a bribe.
Bear is really playful and loves his toys. He is still learning boundaries around the house (Such as, 'just because you can access the dirty laundry basket, doesn’t mean you should steal clothes out of it'... He's lucky he's so cute!), so you'll need to be consistent with training and boundaries.
Bear sleeps quietly through the night. When he wakes up, he goes out to toilet, then joins you on the bed for morning cuddles, before a stroll around the block. During the day, he likes to chew on his hoof, play with his soft toys, and follow you around while you work in the yard. He will help you dig if you let him! He enjoys a longer walk in the evening with a play at the park with other small dogs.
Bear would be a great companion for a single person, couple, or grown up family. He suits a quieter household, and children make him anxious, so he will not be placed in a home with young kids. He is social with other dogs, but best suits being your only dog at home, so he can be king of the castle! He hasn't yet been tested with cats. He has beautiful long locks that will require a commitment to regular grooming.
If you have a wonderful home for the gorgeous Bear, email DFLadoption@gmail.com to apply.
