About Chase
I'm Chase and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED EXPERIENCE IS A MUST!
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I have never interacted with another dog before coming into the shelter so I can be unsure of how to behave around and with them! I will require a lot of positive socialisation with other dogs so that my behaviour improves and not deteriorates towards them. Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me.
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
• No young children as when I'm excited I get very bouncy and mouthy, older children who will be involved with my training should be ok.
• SOCIALISATION is as important as training. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman et) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will ensure I mature into a social and well adjusted doggo.
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be.
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children or frail/fragile people due to me being very mouthy & bouncy
My best features:
• LOVE people
• Exuberant & full of beans
• Housetrained and used to being allowed inside
• VERY playful
• I can sit & shake hands
• Wiggle worm
• Highly food motivated
• I love going for rides in the car
• I LOVE toys
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be very bouncy & mouthy -training should stop this
• I will require full basic training as I've had limited training experience
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• My previous owner said that I used to sometimes dig when left in the yard on my own! A family who has a lot of time for me, will include me in as many daily activities as possible and provide me with adequate physical and mental enrichment is a must!
• I can sometimes initially be shy and try to avoid things going over my head (lead etc). It doesn't take long for me warm up and my excitable & full of life nature to come out.
