About Harley DL2644
Harley is a super lovely girl who just wants to be loved. She enjoys spending her day taking some walks for important sniffing purposes, and having lots of cuddles on the couch!
Harley is friendly with all people, but hasn't had close contact with children yet. She is house trained and isn't a chewer or digger. She generally walks well on lead, however she's a big girl and can pull a bit when her nose gets going, so a harness can come in handy.
As long as she's had her morning walk, Harley is okay to spend the workday at home with another dog for company. She is crate trained and is learning to cope on her own for short periods of time without another dog. She will generally settle if given something to keep her entertained such as a lickimat.
While Harley is okay with other dogs, she is still learning how to act around them and can be overwhelmed if there are too many dogs at once. She can be protective when other dogs approach her humans, and will need ongoing socialisation training to work on this. She currently lives with a similar sized older male dog, and could go to a home with another, but would likely be happiest as your only dog.
Harley is well behaved; she sits and waits for her food, comes when called and knows what 'no' means. She has learned some new cues such as "on your bed" and her recall is very good. Harley is great in the car, and very gentle when taking food. She is suited to a home without cats. She has access to inside and outside the house most of the day, but prefers to just snooze the day away on the couch.
If you'd love to make Harley a part of your family, email DFLrescue@gmail.com to apply.
Medical notes
Harley is on Cytopoint injections for skin allergies and she is recovering after double TPLO surgery. We are currently consulting with her vet to determine future medical care and will be able to provide the latest update to applicants upon request.
