About Hippo
Hippo may be short in stature but he has the biggest heart and is the gentlest, well-mannered chunky, coolest little tripod in the world. He has the sweetest nature & is so easy to fall in love with.
Hippo loves all dogs & is very sociable so MUST go to an owner who already has another dog of similar size and age.
Whilst he copes well with stairs, long term he will need to be in a home with no or only a few stairs in order for his little legs to cope.
He shows no signs of separation anxiety when left alone for shorter periods, sits & shakes for treats, he loves food!
Even though he only has 3 legs, he still enjoys a couple of short walks a day, loves his outings around the local neighborhood, and just loves to be wherever his humans are so a home that can include him in outings most of the times is what would work best for this super love bug.
Friendly to all he meets, his carers are often stopped in the street with people that are drawn to this little charismatic dude. Whilst Hippo has not shown any aggression to anyone that his carers have introduced him if you have children they should be over the age of approximately 10 years of age
He is currently in foster care in the inner city however as he can get overwhelmed at large intersections where there is a lot of car traffic noise, he would be much more suited to a quieter suburban or country area.
This little guy deserves only the best things in life, so a home with access inside at all times is a must and he must be permitted on the lounge for cuddles and sleep in a warm area of the home of a night preferably close by to you:) A doggy door for Hippo to come in and out is preferred, however, if you are home Hippo is pretty good at letting you know he needs to go outside to the bathroom.
It is hard not to fall utterly in love with Hippo and his foster parents, know he will find his perfect forever home very soon!
If you would like to meet Hippo please do not forget to send some information on the home you are able to provide.

MEDICAL NEEDS
Hippo has had recent surgery to remove one of his rear legs as a result of a car accident and has made a full recovery and will not require anything more medically other than a good diet, supplements to help support his remaining limbs, a home with no or limited stairs and obviously help onto the lounge:)
