About Sayuri "Small Lily"
Hi! I’m Sayuri, which means “Small Lily” in Japanese. I’m soft and gentle, and I love cuddles and pats. I approach friendly humans and trill at them for pats and snuggles, and I enjoy being picked up. My foster Mum says I am the best lap cat ever! Tummy rubs are my favourite. I have a wonderful fluffy tail.
I’m still young, and I enjoy playing daily - I prefer play with humans, like a string or a toy to chase. Otherwise I’m happy to wander around and do my own thing like napping in the sun or chirping at birds.
I’m curious and might follow you around to see what you’re doing. Especially if what you’re doing involves food.
Initially I might be a little afraid of new things and loud noises, but with patience and kindness I very quickly come out of my shell.
My Ideal Home:
For my health and safety and that of local wildlife, I must be homed securely 100% indoors.
I’d love a home where I can get lots of cuddles and attention. I love hanging out on the couch. My forever family should be excited to play with me daily, and brush me every week.
I would be perfect for an older person looking for a snuggly companion, or equally perfect for a family with children.
What is Known About My Background:
I was handed into the pound with my (maybe) sister Kuru who has since been adopted. Not much is known about our life before then, but we were in great condition and already human-friendly.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
While in care I have met a little baby and I was very gentle. I’ve also met my carer’s young Grandchildren and I absolutely loved playing with them. I followed them around the house like a dog! I even coped brilliantly with a noisy house full of people and I didn’t hide at all! Like most cats though, I would be best suited to children who understand they need to give me space if I want it, or put me down if I am trying to retreat. I haven’t met any dogs yet but that might be ok if they are gentle and friendly.
I came into care with my sister and we got along pretty well. I should be fine with another friendly cat.
