Moira ~ 5 month old (on trial 10/05/2021)

Meet Moira! This beautiful fluffy girl was found wandering around some bushland with her best friend Maurice before being found by a kind stranger who was worried about them and contacted us for help. Moira is a clever girl and found Maurice to guide her around as she is 100% blind.

Moira is the sweetest kitten you're ever likely to meet. She absolutely loves people and will start purring the second she is picked up.
In the dictionary next to the words "lap cat", you'll find a picture of Moira. Her favourite activities include napping on someone's chest, snoozing right at the top of her scratching post (we're still so impressed everytime she finds her way up there), or wandering around the house until she finds a nice patch of sun to snooze the day away. Moira wants to be with you 24/7 and will wander around the house looking for you when you leave a room. As soon as you sit down, she always figures out where you are so she can rub her little head against you and get some chin scratches.

Moira will need a very special home with someone who has experience with (or is knowledgeable about) blind cats. Moira is very good at navigating around with the help of Maurice, however, she will need an adopter who owns their home as she does not cope well with spaces changing, being relocated, or things getting moved around. She will also require a home with another calm, cat-friendly cat who can be her guide and help her find her way around without bashing into too many things.

Moira is very cat friendly and lives with 2 adult cats and several other foster kittens. Moira has been exposed to dogs before coming into care but does not currently reside with any - their foster carer thinks she may be okay with easy-going, respectful dogs who have experience living with cats. Moira will need a veeeeery slow introduction to any existing pets as she gets very overwhelmed around new animals and in new environments.

Moira and Maurice are available for adoption together or separately as they both form attachments with other cats very easily so won’t miss each other too much if separated.

Moira has had surgery to stitch up her empty eye socket to prevent recurring infections, and her remaining eye has no sight.
