On Hold
About Maizie ~ 8 week old kitten (on trial 08/05/2021)
Maizie Moo is adventurous, playful and shy all in one ball of cuteness.
With her gorgeous torti half colour face and amazing eyes, how can you say no?
Maize is very independent, playful and quick to explore new places, however is a little skittish and shy around new people and loud noises.
She soon comes out of her shell and is back for more cuddles as she learns that the world around her isn’t all that scary.
Maizie and her siblings were found in a back yard, abandoned by their mum at 2.5weeks old. Even though she had a rough start, she took to bottle feeding well and loved her bottle so much she broke several teats as she refused solid food for longer than her other siblings.
Maizie avoids food if it isn’t what she wants, or if it's straight out of the fridge, and she LOVES chicken flavours. Maizie still enjoys kitten milk of a night time and will push all of her siblings out of the way to get the queens share of the dish. Maizie is litter trained.
Maizie is very playful and loves playing with her siblings over toys, but will climb the tower and scratching post. Maizie is the “big sister” or “mumma” of the group and will pin the others down to groom them and helped her foster fur sister who is 4 weeks younger than her, learn how to be a big kitten. Maizie is AMAZING with other animals, plays well with her foster fur siblings both dog and cat and will seek out the dog for cuddles and play time.
Maizie is very sooky at times and will shadow you if you have gotten up from cuddling her. She enjoys chin scratches and big pats along her back.
Maizie would suit a family with older children over 12 who can respect her as she can be startled by loud noises and grabbing hands. Maizie would benefit greatly from a cat or dog for company.
DRN cats and kittens must be inside only unless you have a cat enclosure that they can have some outside time in.
Since Maizie is too young to be desexed she will need to be adopted locally in the Newcastle, Central Coast or Hunter area so she can be returned before she is 4 months to a DRN approved vet for desexing which is included in her adoption fee as well as microchipping and first kitten vaccination. Her adoption fee is $250 and she is located in Morisset.
If you are interested in meeting Maizie, please complete the below questionnaire.
