About Opie & Daisy ~ Beagles(On Trial 26/4/21)
Do you need a couple of snugglebugs in your life? Opie and Daisy are a bonded pair of 7 and 8 year old beagles who always have a smile on their faces. They have a beautiful, gentle nature. They are looking for a family to cuddle with due to a change in their human’s living circumstances.
Although their favourite activity is lounging around, they do enjoy short bouts of energetic play, with fetch being a particular favourite – however return of the ball is not always guaranteed! They enjoy a leisurely stroll, but they get more enjoyment out of sniffing around the neighbourhood than they do the actual walk.
They know how to sit, stay, shake hands, and once they’ve been shown where to go to the toilet they’re very good at taking themselves out if needed. They walk nicely on a leash, however can get a little excited if they see another dog. They are smart and very food motivated though, so it shouldn’t take long to teach them more manners.
Opie and Daisy rely on each other for company, but they also love the company of people and other dogs. They really enjoy having their humans around, so they’d be best suited to a family where there is someone home most of the time, either working from home, retired, or a household with members that work alternate shifts/school to each other. Daisy can be a little scared of thunderstorms, but we found that with a little reassurance from the human members of the household, she weathered the recent storms really well with no fuss.
Although they are great with children, they may not be suited to households with very young children, as Opie doesn’t realise he’s a little on the chunky side and may inadvertently knock them over! So they are looking for a family with older children 10 and over or no children who just want to cuddle and love on them all day long.
If you’re searching for the most amazing pair of lovebugs you will ever find, you can contact their foster carer Chelsea for anymore information or if you have any questions not covered in their profile chelsea.allura@outlook.com
