About Willow
Hello! My name is Willow and I’m looking for my furever family!
I am a lady of many talents! Some people say that greyhounds find it super awkward to sit because of our deep chests, but I am the most elegant at sitting! I could even give other breeds a run for their money! My foster family are also super impressed at how smart I am. I sit in anticipation of treats before they even get the chance to say the word “sit".
I love food but am super polite, I only eat what I’m given. This means I’ll do almost anything for food. If you’re eating something yummy, you can be sure to have my big brown eyes follow your hand. Your heart will probably melt and you will give me whatever you’re eating - I’m self taught in hypnosis.
I enjoy two short walks a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I love every human and dog (big or small) that I meet, however cats are another matter!!
I also love the car, especially if you’re cleaning it - if you leave a car door open, you’ll be sure to find me in one of the seats you’re trying to vacuum!
I’m super playful - I love playing with humans, my foster greyhound sister or even just myself! I love playing with toys, catching them, throwing them, playing bitey-face with them. If there’s no one or toys around in my vicinity, you’ll often find me rolling around playing with myself on the rug. For this reason, I don't need a big backyard as long as you have space for me to roll around inside.
I’d love to meet you if you liked my auto-biography (yes, writing is one of my other talents) and you think you can give me all the food and love that I need. You’ll get lots of laughter and love forever in return, I promise!
Summary:
- WFH or part time – someone home more often than not
- Must have another (easy going) dog of medium to large size
- No children under 10
- Willow is not cat friendly
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
Click 'Enquire about this pet' to contact us or email us at adoptions@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. We'll send you an EOI form, this must be returned before proceeding.
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
