Mortimer is a sweet boy who will put his head in your lap any chance he can get, and if you stop patting, then out comes the paw! Constant pats are compulsory!
Mortimer sleeps well in his crate overnight, knows to toilet outside and will tell you if he needs to go. Mortimer has learned to sit and stay for his dinner, and to sit before crossing the road on walks. He's also learning how to play fetch and with rope toys!
He walks ok on a lead but might pull a little when he really finds a good smell. He can get quite excited when other dogs are close so a sit and calm down with pats and cuddles for a couple of minutes calms him down to continue the walk. Once he gets to know his area he will become easier to train.
Mortimer will be a sweet and loyal guardian to you and your family, and he thinks he is a watch dog! If someone intrudes on your turf then they are asking to be shouted at! He needs people calm and confident at managing strong-willed lads.
He will need 5ft fences and if there are any dogs next door the fence might need dig proofing! He would love a yard with fencing through which he can’t see passersby. He absolutely LOVES any dogs and people outside of his home if a little too much, but is learning to be a calm boy, and with training and time can learn to relax even more!
Mortimer is pretty low maintenance as far as exercise is concerned. He would love a sniffy walk everyday as he loves to sniff around the neighbourhood. A few games and he is learning to play fetch!
Mostly Morty just wants to be with his humans.
