About Rosa
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive socialisation with other people/dogs/puppies, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and if you have space in your personal life. Rosa will require a commitment and investment of your time as a younger puppy, and a home where she has human company for most of the day **
NAME: Rosa
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: The litter was taken into care when a few hours old. 6 of her siblings have found their perfect home and we just have Rosa and Buddha to go!
KNOWN BREEDS: American Staffordshire Terrier x Bullmastiff
BREED TRAITS: American Staffordshire Terriers are quite high energy, playful, affectionate and intelligent but do require training as they can be headstrong. They are very social with adults and children and are extremely loyal but can suffer from separation anxiety if left for long periods. Their sociability with dogs is a facet that needs work from an early age.
Bullmastiff: originally bred as a guard dog, this breed is affectionate with family but can be standoffish with strangers. Sensitive and loving to his clan he is a powerful and courageous guardian They are independent thinkers so training and socialisation to people, places and other dogs should start young. Best as an inside dog he needs to be protected from overheating. They have low to medium energy requirements but can excel in various dog sports. He is a drooler and definitely not for novice owners
ASSETS: Confident, assertive, active, devoted, friendly, playful, eager to please, demanding at times, and sensitive. She's friendly towards pretty much everyone she meets with no signs of fear at all and adores cuddles.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Loves cuddles and playing with her human and siblings. She's fairly active and really loves her playtime.
ENDEARING FEATURES: She has the sweetest little face!
OTHER ANIMALS: She gets on well with other friendly dogs after gentle introduction and enjoys playing with them. She hasn't been around cats but given her young age she should be fine with a dog-savvy cat that will stand its ground after closely supervised introductions.
GENERAL INFO: Rosa is still a blank canvas. She will need extensive training and socialization in her new home so a commitment will be required from her new owner to take her to puppy school where she can socialise and learn new things in a safe and controlled environment, and we would strongly recommend ongoing training into adulthood. She will need housetraining at her new home so expect some accidents while this is happening!
NEW HOME ESSENTIALS: Stability: A home where someone is there for most of the day on a permanent basis (not just through Covid 19) or can take her with them when they go out - this breed mix flourishes with human company, they are people dogs and a young pup will not cope being left alone.
Time: Rosa has a medium energy level and will need good daily exercise. She will need a gradual increase in activity as she grows and as an adult dog will need a walk/run twice a day to keep her happy and healthy.
Space: Rosa needs a good sized, well fenced, secure yard with some grass and interesting things for her to sniff.
Love: Rosa needs to be allowed to be inside or out as she chooses, to sleep inside at night and to be included as part of the family. She would go well with dog-savvy, gentle children over 5 years old, and would love a youngish dog to play and interact with in her new home.
If Rosa sounds like the perfect girl for you, please send an enquiry and we'll be in touch soon.
