About Tank ~ 4yr Old American Staffy X(On Trial 8/5/21)
Meet Tank - he is an American Staffy cross with a heart of gold. At 4 years old, he has the crazy puppy stage and house training days behind him. He is a social butterfly, good with children, very friendly and loves saying hello to all the other dogs.
Tank has been loved and well cared for in his early years, but due to changed circumstances, he is now looking for a loving, active family who can give him lots of attention, walks and visits to the beach or dog parks regularly. He is very well behaved inside the home and would love to sleep indoors and be included as part of the family. Owners working from home or part-time would be ideal. Tank is a very loyal and affectionate boy, child-friendly and submissive to other dogs. He is large at 35kg, so care around small children is needed. He is best suited to a family with dog savvy children over 6 years old. He would need a medium-large grassy yard with strong fences and secure gates. He is very good in the car, excited to go anywhere with you and sits calmly while travelling.
He needs a strong person to walk him - he walks beautifully on lead but is quite strong. Motivated by small treats, he is very smart and keen to learn. So far, he loves to play tug with dog toys, and is working on fetching. He would be happy as an only dog with your undivided attention, but also with another calm dog for company. He has lived with another dog, a rabbit and a 2yo child with no issues, but has not been tested with cats. He does become anxious during thunderstorms and loud noises, but has not tried to escape.
