About Candy
Candy is the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet and she can’t wait to get settled in her furever home.
She was born deaf, and understandably this makes her a bit scared of the world, but slowly she’s become more confident with the help of her foster carer. She’s house trained and has been learning sign language. She can sit, stay and come, but would benefit from further training or someone experienced with deaf dogs.
Candy loves people, and all she wants to you is follow you around everywhere you go once she trusts you. She’s very gentle, and just wants to sit near you so she knows she’s safe. She needs to be a big part of your family as she gets anxious when you’re not home. She would suit someone working from home or someone who can take her to work with them. She LOVES cuddles and getting comfy, but understands if she’s not allowed on the furniture.
Candy is fine with all other animals, but gets scared if they’re too boisterous and in her face. She’s expressed interest in playing with other dogs once she gets to know them, but gets a little confused about how. She would suit a house with a calm-natured dog or cat that she can become friends with. She’s also fine around children, but would best suit kids old enough to understand that she can’t hear and can be frightened if you sneak up on her.
Candy has started on medication to help with her anxiety, and her new family needs to continue giving this to her.
Medical notes
Candy is deaf and on medication for her anxiety
