About Finch - Located in Preston
Finch has had an uneasy start to life and is yet to be fully comfortable around people. He will play chasey with his sister and will sit with her but is often by himself. He is gradually accepting that it is okay to play with toys left for him by the human. Recently, Finch has also played with the feather teaser but only after realising that it was not a threat. He is alert to the world and keeps a watch on what is going on around him, preferably from the arm of a chair or from the window sill.
He will accept occasionally rubs behind the ears, strokes and scratch along his back that make him purr but he then seems startled and walks away. He is gradually allowing someone to sit next to him on the lounge, and maybe even let them pat him. For a short time. He will however come and find the human when he is hungry, and then sit by the cupboard so that we really get the message.
With classic tabby markings offset with splashes of white, Finch is straight forward and not fussy in appearance or personality. He is easy-going but is yet to gain confidence to fully demonstrate his affectionate side that is emerging slowly. In the meantime, he is living amicably with other cats, eating with them, playing and occasionally grooming them. He has tolerated a batch of boisterous young kittens, making way for them at meal time and then grooming them after they had eaten. It might take him a while to ‘come around’ but he shows every sign of being worth the wait.
