About Herbie, 9yo, Bearded Collie x Lab (Trial 13/3/21)
Herbie is a 9 year old, male, Bearded Collie x Labrador. He loves to play with balls and toys . He is a total sweetheart who wants nothing more than to be with his people. He loves to chill out at your feet.
His new family will need to keep up with grooming as he has a long coat which needs regular care. He does not like being separated from his family and will bark when they leave for a little while, but soon settles down. He is relaxed at home but sometimes needs reassurance when facing new experiences. He is happy to potter around the house with you all day long. He currently sleeps in a crate inside and is fully toilet trained.
Herbie will sit and wait for his food. He pulls a little on the lead at first so may need further lead training. He would be happy with a half hour walk each day and some play time with toys. He is affectionate, loving and loyal and interested in being involved in everything you do, even if that's relaxing at home.
Herbie was surrendered to DRN when his owner moved to an apartment in Sydney and was sadly unable to take him. He used to live with another dog so he will be fine to live with another dog in his forever home.
Herbie would love a family where people are home as often as possible and are keen to involve him in all activities. He hasn't been exposed to young children, and it would be best if there were no small children in their home. He isn't suited to pocket because he has shown a tendency to chase cats and smaller animals. He is very adaptable and able to settle in to a new environment quickly, and would love to be your new best friend.
If you have any questions about Herbie please email Lauren at hitthesand@hotmail.com, or preferably fill out our adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.
Herbie is in East Seaham, NSW. His adoption fee is $200. He is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations, worming and flea treatments.
