About Sapphire
Sapphire is a lively, loving little puppy. She is very active and loves a run, and better yet a swim. She can easily keep up with the big dogs when they go for a bush run, but she keeps an ear out too , and comes back quickly when she is called. She plays with the big dogs and can cope with a bit of rough and tumble. She enjoys her toys too, and will share them with the other dogs. Sapphire is a cuddly little one who loves to curl up on the bed or couch next to her human for a nap. She also sleeps on the dog beds, sometimes curled up with her best mate (a 40 kg Bull Arab!). Sapphire has a sensitive nature and needs her humans to be predictable and calm. She has really grown in confidence over the couple of months she has been in care, and transformed from a scared little pup into a confident teenager.
Sapphire was surrendered to us from a family in a remote NT community, labelled a "cheeky dog". It turns out that she is not "cheeky", but is rather a very sensitive little dog. She has blossomed in an environment where she gets careful exposure to new experiences, lots of positive feedback, and a quiet and peaceful home environment. She really is a lovely little dog who we feel does need a playful doggy companion of either sex.
Sapphire is currently in foster care in the NT. While our rescue work happens in the NT, our rehoming operation is in South Australia. Sapphire is expected to travel to SA in mid April.
