Meet gorgeous KWAT. A country goofball, Kwat is new to the easy life of a city dog and is learning about all the new sights, sounds and smells! Although very timid and anxious to new sounds, he is curious and once he is certain there is no danger, he will venture out to explore.
Kwat is learning how to play with dog toys, learning about walking on lead and learning about appropriate behaviour inside a house. Kwat will sit on command, wait for his meals and is mastering stay and wait. He is getting used to the humans coming and going in the household and has settled well into his foster home with 11 and 13 year old humans and a male Golden Retriever. He is anxious about getting into the car but once in and restrained, he travels well. Secure high fencing is essential in Kwat new home as when he is anxious, he will look for a way to escape.
Kwat is a compact, agile puppy who will grow into a large strong boy. Currently very goofy and has his foster family in hysterics at his puppy antics. Kwat craves attention and affection from his human foster family and reassurance from the resident dog so will be better suited to a home who has a family member home most of the time and/or another dog.
Kwat is nearly there with house training and does not bark unnecessarily. His Foster brother pooch has been teaching him how to play appropriately and toy sharing is not an issue. His curious nature sees him following you around the house watching what you are doing and absorbing the sights and sounds of family life. He will sleep beside you wherever you let him and loves a cuddle on the couch.
Kwat will thrive in a calm but physically active household committed to building on his confidence and positive exposure to new experiences. He is a gentle sweetheart, just wanting to please you and be told he is a good boy. Kwat had previously lived with another dog but as his foster parents have been working from home, he hasnāt been left on his own for long periods just yet. He has been introduced to cats but was unsure so over time and careful introduction should be ok.
He has not been tested with small children.
