About Daisie ❤
Daisie is a diamond in the rough. She is a survivor who endured more than most before being rescued, and thrived because of her acute intuition and elevated defence mechanism.
She has a very limited vision but she does not let that stop her. You will soon even forget her impairment because she can do anything, except jumping up on a high place like the kitchen counter. Watching her navigate the space seamlessly is wonderful and admirable. She can even play with toys, jump onto another surface, and chase other cats! The only time she had bumped into an object in the 9 months was when a visitor came in and she wanted to get away fast. She is getting a lot better with visitors and is hiding less.
Daisie is a beautiful girl with mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colours made up of patches of tan, black and white. Due to her vision impairment her pupils are dilated all the time, accentuating her black almond shaped eyes. She loves eating.
She is surprisingly low maintenance and will be content if she knows where her food, cat grass and the water bowl is. She loves napping in a sunny spot and she will find it on her own.
She took a very long time to allow humans to touch her. It took months of consistent “less is more” approach for her to finally start purring while being petted. The way she engages differs from other cats so she needs you to know her cues. She does not communicate verbally yet, which might be due to her learning to be quiet to survive, while living outside. When she does meow, she meows loudly and it is precious and beautiful. Her vision does hinder her from learning from other cats, so she needs a lot of time to accept new ways. She may take years, if at all, to be affectionate, and it’s important for her new human to accept her as she is.
Daisie found it hard to be with other cats at first, but she has overcome that and even enjoys sharing space with them now.
Daisie is not a special needs cat, she’s just a special girl who is willing to wait as long as it takes to find her forever family.
