Haku

Haku, like his namesake from Ghibli’s Spirited Away, is a kind character with inner strength and beauty. He retired from the life on the street in February this year, and is absolutely relishing the domestic life. He cannot believe how nice it is to be cared for, fed regularly, and be called by a name. He answers so proudly and will come sprinting which is one of the many dog-like behaviours he exhibits.
When he was rescued, he was covered in scabs and looked worse for wear, but as you can see in the photos, his beautiful green eyes are shining through as he shed away the old life behind him.
He recently discovered the sofa and loves nothing more than lying within an easy access to a human hand (for pets). He adores getting gentle shiatsu massage on his worn-out paw pads, having his very plump cheeks and muscly belly massaged, he cannot get enough and will vocally protest if stopped. Speaking of vocals, he is very communicative with humans especially at feeding time. At other times, though, he is a very good boy and is quiet. He really is a bit like a dog!
He is also a little bit like a retired boxer, you know he’s not always had it easy, had to fight to stay alive, but he persisted and he deserves a relaxing life where he never needs to worry about having clean water and food. He is a sweetheart and is incredibly affectionate.
Although he has not once been aggressive or even hissed at a human, he can be a bit awkward with other cats. He doesn’t fight or attack, but may hiss, more as a defensive stance and is most likely from having been an entire male until late February. He is also FIV positive so he will suit a household with other FIV carriers or be a sole cat companion. He will be fine either way.
He may not be classically handsome, but he has such an adorable and charming personality. That is why he is ready to find his forever home. There are still many “firsts” to be experienced together, like napping on a lap, being held and cuddled, etc. He is friendly to anyone and will happily be petted by guests within seconds. He loves all kinds of food and eats a lot.
