About Mouse
š SWEET SCAREDY MOUSE š
āHey there, the names Mouse. Iām really a very shy girl so the Catters canāt tell you much about me just yet. I grew up living behind McDonalds with my family, itās the only place our mumma could find food for us. We were really very skinny when we were rescued and the Catters said they could see almost all of my bones! But my foster mum welcomed me with open arms and did all she could to make sure we were comfortable. It took a long time but we all slowly got healthier and stronger! But I have had a lot of trouble learning to trust everyone. Iām happy to live with people, but I havenāt got used to them patting me just yet. My favourite time of the day is when the sun goes down, because me and all my foster friends get to play with all our toys! Foster mum fills the living room with tunnels and boxes and toys and we all go crazy! Play is the best way to get me going, so if youāre the type of person that would like to throw some toys about while giving me some space to thrice, then I really think I would like to meet you. I am eagerly waiting for a family of my own, who will be patient and give me time to grow.ā
Mouse can be quite timid when faced with new experiences and environments. We expect her to feel comfortable with children over the age of 10 years who can sit quietly and approach gently while she becomes settled in a new home. We expect a smooth transition moving to a home with other household pets with the right introductions, and we are happy to provide support during this time.
All timid cats are sent to potential new homes on a one to two week trial after an initial meet and greet before finalising adoption. While adult cats do take longer than this to settle into a new home, it allows a chance to see how the cat is coping with the new environment. Due to her timid nature, Mouse is not available for a meet and greet as she will likely hide away under couches and beds. We are happy to extend this trial period and provide support in transitioning timid cats to new homes.
