About Murphy
He's Hairy, Bushy and Bearded And He's All Male...
We have yet another smaller sized Wolfhound X called Murphy but, unlike our previous beauty, there is no mistaking this boy for a female with his rugged good looks.... His shaggy face just beams mischief and he is a funny and quirky rascal who can certainly keep you challenged and entertained.
Sadly, when we rescued Murphy from the pound, it became apparent almost immediately that he was suffering a serious leg injury. X-rays soon revealed the cause which was a ruptured cruciate ligament. As a result, he had a major surgery after which he was to be kept quiet with minimal movement so that he could have the optimum outcome. WELL !!! Have you ever tried to keep an active dog still??? IT is no easy task and Murphy was no exception (especially since he was inclined to be stubborn and strong willed) so it was nearly impossible. Even sedatives didn't help so now Murphy has a slight limp after he has done a lot of physical exercise. This should not present any serious problems for him and it certainly does not hold him back. We are happy to share his full vet review with anyone who his interested in this gentleman.
Whilst Murphy is a very strong boy, he also has a soft side and is not averse to cuddles and affection. He doesn't mind having a canine buddy to play with but doesn't really know what to do with toys. Many of the dogs coming into our care do not appear to have had any toys and no one has spent time showing them how to play.
Murphy has been developing a fascination for water as his new carers - Melissa and Sam- have a pool and they have been highly amused by his antics.
