About Lennon
This adorable Country Kid would prefer a farm life over a city life
Lennon is a sweet and simple dog with classic Kelpie personality traits.
He has a bright and busy mind and just loves to run and play. He especially loves water - playing with the hose and splashing in the dam are his favourite things to do and he always makes his foster carer laugh with his water antics.
Lennon loves other dogs but because of his youth, he doesn’t always read other dogs’ body language correctly and has been told off on occasion by his foster siblings for overstepping the boundaries. He takes his reprimands with good humor and he is learning very quickly. With more guidance from a calm, older dog, there is no doubt his dog manners will continue to improve greatly.
In his foster home, he is sharing his days with other working breed dogs and they all get along really well. He is currently with our other foster boy, Banjo and they have becoming great mates, sharing their adventures together with the resident dogs :)
Lennon is young and extremely active. He has a true 'working breed' nature. His mind is always on the go and he will become bored very quickly in a home where he will not be offered loads of stimulation on a daily basis.
Lennon was surrendered to the pound by his previous family for being 'too active' so we will be extremely selective to make sure it is the right home for him this time so he does not have to face further moves in the future.
Lennon is very tolerant of older children (untested with children under 8) and loves pats and cuddles from them. When off leash, he is the first one to come back when called and he runs towards you with a big goofy grin on his face. He usually sits straight next to you waiting for a pat or for his lead to be put on. Sometimes his exuberance to return to you does result in him jumping up and he would therefore be unsuitable for a home with young children.
Lennon walks quite well on a lead however he is very interested in cars, bikes and scooters. He has been fostered in a quiet country area so he has not had much exposure to busy roads and footpaths. He would do well with some specific desensitisation training in this area with his new family.
Whilst in care, Lennon has been exposed to horses, sheep, alpacas and cows. He is not interested in any of them and will immediately leave them alone when called. He has been very interested in the cats at his foster home and will chase them if they run - for this reason a home with cats is not recommended for Lennon.
Lennon is very quickly learning basic obedience commands and has learnt “sit”, “down”, “look at me” and “wait”. He is toilet trained and travels well in the car. Lennon will make an excellent companion for someone looking for a friendly, fun loving pet.
To summarise, Lennon is young, fun, extremely active and very smart and gentle.
Only homes with another active dog of similar age, size, breed and energy levels will be considered
Lennon will require a home with plenty of room to run and play (acreage preferred)
Not suited to apartment living
No cats or young children
We look forward to hearing from you if you think you have the perfect home and lifestyle for Lennon

Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
