About Pink and Floyd
Pink and Floyd - 2 very special kittens
Now taking applications
To be adopted as a pair ONLY!
FLOYD
Originally thought to be a boy, we now know Floyd is a little girl đ
To describe her as âtiny but mightyâ is an understatement. She is the smallest kitten we have ever rescued (see the last photo of her the day of rescue)
The vet confirmed that her age was around 7 weeks but at 300g she was half the size and weight of kittens that age. She is still very small and may remain miniature for the rest of her life. Despite this she has no medical problems and is flourishing.
Sheâs a chirpy little thing and likes to follow you around so be careful where you step.
Sheâs not afraid of anything and if I had to describe Floyd in one word it would be
MIGHTY đŚ
PINK
Named because of the Pink spot on his head, this little guy is a special case.
We donât know why he had the pink spot. These sort of markings have been linked to dog baiting but we just donât know. He seemed quite traumatised when we first got him but as he settled in it was apparent something else was going on.
Pink is almost totally blind and deaf. Itâs quite common for white cats with blue eyes to have either of these conditions but rare to have both.
So what kind of quality of life can Pink have? Pretty great actually! Cats are masters of adaption and watching him map out his world is pretty amazing. Heâs also 100% litter trained. Like any normal kitten he loves to eat, play and sleep... but cuddles are his favourite thing and he lets you know with endless purring. If I had to describe Pink in one word it would be
LOVE â¤ď¸
Things to be aware of if you are considering adopting these little ones
1. They MUST be adopted together. Floyd âgetsâ Pink where other cats may not. And Pink needs a stable mate
2. Their forever home must have no young kids, no cranky cats or dogs. They need a home with someone who is not intending to move house and will be home the majority of the time and have had previous experience with owing cats.
3. The residence must be safe and secure. No windows or doors unscreened. No open or floating stair cases. Nothing they could fall from a height.
4. They need extra cuddles. Touch is a big deal to Pink so the more the better
5. Adopting an animal is for life! Especially in this case as changing their environment, or owners, would be very upsetting for them.
And on a personal note.... Iâm their foster mum and I love them so much. Iâve fostered many kittens and these 2 are very special. Despite their conditions they are both still independent and can easily get around a home, on and off beds and couches... and your lap.
Medical notes
Pink is deaf and almost totally blind.
His pupils react to light but that's about it.
