About Punk
Punk is very funny little guy. The way he plays is super cute - he loves to pounce after his toys. He'll bring you a toy then cheekily run away with it, as if to say "HA! I got you." He makes the cutest little growls when playing.
Punk also loves to cuddle. If you reach out your arms towards him and say "cuddles", he runs right into your arms with his ears back and tail wagging. If you are sat down while doing this, he'll just collapse in your lap and snuggle in.
Playing, being with people, and cuddles are his top 3 things in life. If you can tick these boxes, you're in the good books with Punk!
He loves treats but understands he needs to do something clever first to get one, like sit or shake. His favourite treat is chicken so you'll always get a response for that!
Punk's toys are all called 'burger'. This is because his very first toy was a squeaky burger and when he would hear "get your burger", he'd run off to get it. So when he got any toys after that he didn't respond to "get the ball" or "get your toy", it had to be "get your burger". At the moment he has a soft squeaky cow and a sloth teddy which he loves.
Punk has always been good with kids, however he is getting old and is used to a very relaxed and quiet home. He doesn't get along with other pets so will need to be the 'King of the Castle' and only pet in the home.
Punk loves going for walks but gets very anxious and pulls on the lead when he sees other dogs passing. Walking through quieter streets or at times when now a lot of others are out can make his adventures more comfortable for him. He likes to go to parks or the beach when there aren't any other dogs around. This is when he can be let off the leash and he loves speeding off. He always comes back when called or if he goes too far. As it's not often one can come across an empty park or beach, Punk is also just as happy with a play in the backyard to wear him out.
When he hears "car", Punk's head cocks straight away. He then runs in circles to the front door. Once in the car he has a little look out the window and then is happy to lie down on your lap.
Punk always loves to be with someone. He will follow you everywhere, even to the loo (you get used to it). But in saying this, he does not get separation anxiety.
He has a cute little underbite and runs and growls in his dreams and sometimes does the sweetest little snorts. Punk likes to sit on people's feet - he kind of backs up onto them.
The ideal home for Punk would be a relaxed and quiet household, with lots of time for cuddles and gentle play. He is such a good boy and deserves all the love and snuggles.
Despite almost being 11 years old, Punk still looks and acts like a puppy in many ways, and people are always surprised when they find out how old he is, vets included. Punk loves so much. Coming home to him is the best feeling in the world.
Punk's rehoming is a heartbreaking decision for his family - they are moving overseas and unable to take Punk with them.
Punk's adoption is an assisted adoption via PetRescue's Home2Home program. You will be speaking with Punk's owner when you enquire.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of adoption fee. Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
